Implemented World Bank aided Andhra Pradesh Third Irrigation Project (SRBC) with on farm demonstrations and training programmes in Irrigation Agronomy in Kurnool District at RARS, Nandyal.
Different projects on dry land Agriculture executed (2007 to 2017) at Agricultural Research Station, Anantapur
(Main centre-AICRPDA), and on watershed basis at Eguvapalli (ORP) , Vannedoddi (NICRA) and Pampanur cluster (NAIP),
Kurlapalli and Mallapuram (ICRISAT-DS) in Aanantapur district, Girigetla (ORP) , Ameenabad (NICRA),
Yerraguntla , Bontiralla (ICRISAT-DS) villages in Kurnool district in farmers’ fields (farmers participatory research).
Adoption of improved varieties with real time crop planning (alternate crops in place of groundnut , contingent crops if monsoon is delayed) have prime importance under changing climatic scenario.
Developed rain water management both in situ and ex situ moisture conservation and utilization to rainfed groundnut are the best climate resilient technologies. This technology was implemented in all the five rainfed districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Developed different modules of farming systems for increasing the livelihoods of dryland farmer.
Involved in development and popularisation of farm pond technology, crop diversification and integrated farming systems, farm mechanisation in dryland Agriculture.
Associated in design, development and fabrication of Aquaplanter, planter cum herbicide sprayer.
In addition to the generation of economically viable and easily adoptable technology, the efforts made in transferring the same by adopting the innovative extension methodologies through focus group interactions, large number of on-farm demonstrations,
training programmes done across the domain area of scarce rainfall zone proved successful in percolating the technology.
