Notable contributions :

Enlightened the farmers in water use efficiency by introducing Direct Sown Paddy with machine transplanter, drum seeder and seed drill in the villages of Guntur and Krishna districts.

Undergone 21 days training on “International Course on Land Drainage” at ALTERRA – ILRI, Wageningen (UR), The Netherlands.

Identified and addressed the adoption gap of direct sown paddy by the Spread of technology from 1000 ha.to 40,000 ha which was disseminated through different means i.e. print, electronic and social media.

Farmer Field Schools were conducted on “Less water use Rice production technologies”, “Integrated Water Management in Rice”, “Mechanisation in rice and Rice fallow maize” at the operational areas of AP Water Management Project, Bapatla.

Organized Exposure visit to Progressive farmers and REAC members to IARI, New Delhi; CSSRI, Karnal; NDRI, Karnal; IIOR, Hyderabad; IIMR, Hyderabad; ICRISAT, Hyderabad and other research stations at AP Water Management Project, Bapatla.

Involved in establishment of the new Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Ghantasala, Krishna district. Developed data base of the district for the preparation of action plans for overall development of agriculture in the district.

As a Programme Coordinator of KVK, Ghantasala, planned and carried out Technology assessment and refinement through OFTs and FLDs in farmer’s fields in Agriculture, Horticulture, Home science and Fisheries. Skill and Vocational trainings were conducted to farmers, farm women and rural youth.

Entrepreneurs were developed in mushroom cultivation (Recipient of Best women entrepreneur Award of ANGRAU on the eve of Women’s Day).

Established different demo units which includes shade net, vermicompost shed, azolla unit, fish ponds, mushroom unit, IFS unit (Poultry unit, Desi Cow unit, Goat unit) bio control lab (Production of Trichoderma viridae) and soil testing laboratory at KVK, Ghantasala.

Under National Food Security Mission, CFLDs on pulses were organised in 310 ha. and introduced the YMV resistant blackgram varieties GBG 1, GBG 12, PU-31, LBG 752, LBG 787, TBG 104, LBG 932, LBG 884 and LBG 904 with an idea to improve the pulse production in the district.

Handled the SEED HUB project at KVK, Ghantasala and educated the farmers regarding seed production in their level and motivated them to become seed producers.

Produced 9533 quintals of Paddy, Blackgram and Greengram seed at KVK farm and in farmers field (outsourcing) and stood at second place in “Seed production and distribution” at ATARI Zone X and received an appreciation certificate from Director, ATARI Zone X.

Involved in infrastructure development i.e. Main building, farmers hostel, Seed Godown under SEED HUB at KVK, Ghantasala
