Notable contributions :
Established state of art biotechnology laboratory at RARS, Tirupati under RKVY during 2008-12.
Identified DNA markers linked to YMV and powdery mildew resistance in blackgram, SMD and wilt resistance
in redgram, kalahasty malady in groundnut. Reported >20 viral and phytoplasmal diseases as first report
from India. Cloned CP gene of PBNV and TSV, expressed in E. coli and produced polyclonal antibodies by
recombinant approach. Associated with release of YMV resistant blackgram (TBG 104, TBG129), wilt and
SMD tolerant redgram (TRG59) through MAS. Also associated with Groundnut (Dharani, TCGG1694), Cowpea
